Blog Re-Launch

October 30, 2009

It’s been about six months since I started this blog, and over that time certain trends in content have become apparent. To better identify the blog, I’ve decided to re-launch under a new name: auTAKU, a portmanteau of “Australian” and “Otaku”. Where Steve Likes was broad, vague and unwieldy, auTAKU is a more direct and accurate representation of what I write about here: mainly anime, figures, Japan and other otaku-type-things.

Since WordPress doesn’t allow you to change the subdomain name of your blog, this is more than just a name change. You’ll find the new blog at autaku.wordpress.com. I’ve moved all the existing content over there and will be removing it from this address to avoid confusion and cannibalising my own hit count. This post is all that remains at Steve Likes and soon even this will be cut down to a simple redirect.

This is a re-launch, not just a name change, so you can expect to see more focussed and regular content at auTAKU. I’ve just posted my review of Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone to inaugurate the new home, so go and check it out! Thanks for reading, and be sure to change any links or bookmarks you might have to the new address.

“auTAKU (oh-tah-koo) is primarily about my life as an Australian otaku and Japanophile. That means you’ll mostly see content relating to things like anime, figures, videogames and technology, as well as Japan, its culture and the otaku subculture.”
